Welcome to the Birdies for Children Program! Introduced at the Honda Classic in 2010, this initiative aims to support 501(c)(3) organizations like S4L in raising essential funds through an exciting contest.
Over thirteen years, Birdies for Children has raised over $16 million for charity, benefiting over 100 local and national organizations. In 2023, a total of 1,419 birdies were recorded, showcasing the generosity and support of our community.
Here’s how it works: Charities solicit donations of $20 or more from donors who then make guesses on the number of birdies made at the 2024 Cognizant in the Palm Beaches. The person with the closest guess wins the grand prize. A birdie, for those unfamiliar, is a score of one stroke better than par on any golf hole. PGA pros typically make between 1,000 – 1,500 birdies during the Cognizant Classic.
All donations are collected by The Cognizant Classic and distributed back to charities, along with a 10% matching bonus. Donors may submit a maximum of 30 guesses, regardless of the amount donated, with a scale of 1 guess for $20, up to 30 guesses for $500.
