We are thrilled to announce that Dana Herst, Esq. has joined Safety 4 Life as our new Director of Engagement and Programming! With an impressive career spanning government relations, community engagement, and legal advocacy, Dana brings a wealth of experience and a deep passion for making a difference in the lives of others.
Dana Herst, Esq., is a Palm Beach County native with nearly two decades of experience dedicated to protecting and strengthening her community. For 22 years, she practiced law locally, serving as both a prosecutor in the Palm Beach County State Attorney’s Office and an Assistant City Attorney for the City of West Palm Beach. During her legal career, Dana tried hundreds of DUI, Reckless Driving, and Driving Under Suspension cases—holding offenders accountable and working to make Palm Beach County’s roads safer.
Her commitment to prevention extended beyond the courtroom. Through the Narcotics Overdose Prevention Education (NOPE) program, Dana joined Judge Bill Bollinger, law enforcement officers, and parents who had lost children to overdose in delivering powerful presentations to students, faculty, and administrators. Together, they educated thousands on the dangers of substance abuse and the importance of making safe choices—a balance of enforcement and education that defined her legal career.
Beyond her professional work, Dana has served in numerous civic and educational leadership roles, including as President and Co-Founder of the Dreher Park Neighborhood Association and as a graduate and active participant in Leadership West Palm Beach and Leadership Palm Beach County. She is deeply committed to ensuring that children, families, and neighborhoods have the resources and knowledge they need to thrive safely.
Dana lives in West Palm Beach with her husband, David, their son Caden, a senior at Suncoast Community High School, and their two dachshund rescues. Their older son, Josh, attends Florida State University.
As Director of Engagement and Programming, Dana will lead Safety 4 Life’s mission to educate, empower, and equip students and families with the tools they need to navigate today’s road safety challenges. Her expertise in nonprofit strategy, stakeholder engagement, and resource development will be instrumental in expanding our programs and reaching more communities across Florida.
Stay tuned for exciting updates as Dana takes the helm and leads Safety 4 Life into a new chapter of growth and impact!
